Daphne Swilling has spent the last 7 years developing close relationships with significant Cherokee leaders and the Elders, including Chad Smith of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma, and Michelle Hicks, Chief of the Eastern Band of Cherokees. Daphne has immersed herself into intense research of Cherokee history to understand their unique mindset and world view. Her researched climaxed with her joining of The Trail of Tears Association in 1998. Daphne quickly became one with its mission which was to promote and engage in the preservation of The Trail of Tears Historic Trail. Working closely with the National Parks Service, she promoted the awareness of the Trails' legacy including the effects of the U.S. Removal Policy on the Cherokee and other tribes. |

With a desire to see bridges of restoration built for the Native American Peoples, she has also been involved in significant national and regional initiatives for reconciliation, including the orchestration of the historic visit of the Lord John Alderdice, Speaker of the Irish Assembly of Northern Ireland, to the Eastern Band Cherokee of North Carolina. This visit focused on reconciliation over the treatment of the Cherokee and the other Native American peoples at the hand of the English, Scots, Irish, and their descendents in America. Daphne has dedicated her life to educate the American people about the Cherokee people and their awe-inspiring trial and legacy, The Trail of Tears. Daphne is a valued producer, liaison, and consultant for the Soaring Eagle Pictures, LLC production of The Trail of Tears-The Motion Picture. |

Joseph DeBeasi |
Joseph DeBeasi earned a Bachelors of Music degree in film composition from Berklee College of Music in 1983. It was then that he scored his first film, a docudrama for PBS using a small chamber orchestra. Today he has over 20 feature film credits as a music editor working along side composers like John Morris (Dirty Dancing), Marvin Hamlish (Frankie and Johnny), Elmer Bernstien (Mad Dog and Glory), and the late Michael Kamen (Shining Through). In 2004 he worked on the film Because of Winn-Dixie with Academy Award winning composer Rachel Portman. In 2006, Joseph completed work on the Queen Latifah hit movie Last Holiday, working along side famed composer George Fenton. |
Joseph's credits as composer include the films; Confessions of a Suburban Girl, The Dean of Thin Air, Blessing, and Flypaper. He also wrote additional music for What's Eating Gilbert Grape-Paramount Pictures and Mad Dog and Glory-Universal Pictures. Joseph produced the Chet Baker jazz CD, Let's Get Lost, from the film Let's Get Lost. Joseph also developed and established Belmont Media Department for a $4 million dollar, non-profit organization. Belmont Media managed Information Technologies, Audio, and Video Departments. Joseph acted as executive producer of all video and audio projects, ensuring consistent vision with high impact results. Joseph served on the Executive Management and Administration Teams providing technical and creative input with vision casting and goal setting strategies. He advised area managers on growth and development, including utilization and supervision of their staff. In addition, Joseph served as Vice President and Executive Producer for Titus Communications located in Nashville, Tennessee, he created business plans, developed show concepts, identified target audiences, marketability and resource requirements for each show. Additionally, he administered the company's business operations. |
